Sarah Jones grew up as the “last kid picked” for teams in PE class and never dreamed she would one day teach fitness classes. However, after a horrific automobile accident in 2006 in which she sustained severe injuries, and months of physical therapy afterward, Sarah developed a love for building strength. She became passionate about providing a way for women to empower themselves through improved fitness.
Sarah became a certified personal trainer (ACSM-cPT) in 2008 and founded Intensity Works, LLC in 2009 to provide effective and efficient workouts for busy women in a non-intimidating environment.
Sarah is an avid student of fitness, and along the way she has earned several certifications in addition to the cPT. These include the Metabolic Effect Certified Nutrition Consultant and Hardstyle Kettlebell Certified (HKC) Instructor designations. She earned the HKC at the inaugural event in 2009, which was taught by former Soviet Special Forces Agent, Pavel Tsatsouline. In addition to her fitness education, Sarah also holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Duke University.
Sarah teaches all classes at Intensity Works and offers individual personal training on a limited basis. Her students see quick results in fitness and fat loss and describe her style as encouraging and compassionate but tough.
